RW is Over!

Hello whoever that  is reading this blog!

We had our last RW class yesterday, which means that all our ELA courses are officially over! It was really hard writing a research paper because, well, I'm really too lazy to do any research to begin with :P

But anyways, I talked about the importance of adults reading picture books once in a while. It was very hard to find the sources to support my  points, but I actually managed to finished it on time.

The best part of RW was actually the teacher. In fact, I really had fun with all the teachers from ELA. Maybe I have a very special ability that I get very attached, and sometimes over-friendly, with all the teachers. It is actually more fun to be friends with them rather than having his feelings of anger or something for giving us all the work. The down part is that, I get too friendly that non of the warnings that those teacher give me ever scares me because I know they will help us students at the end. I am not trying to take that advantage, but I know from experience that it is more fun being nice to the teachers in every way than to be against them.

Well, I've gone far off topic from RW, but my point was that it is actually more important that you become friends with the teachers if you want to have a even more fun class.

Anyways, I might come back and update this blog, as I hope no one is reading it seriously, and keep updating my thoughts and situations just for the fun out of it.

Final Presentation and Commenting

Hello!! How are you doing?

 We are currently working on our final project. We have to make a presentation for our R&P class. It's gotten harder because we just had a presentation in class about all of our projects, so I think we need to come up with a new presentation so that we don't bore our audiences. I did a presentation on hypnotism, and I even tried a performance of hypnosis, so I need to think of a really good new plot to impress the people... And I'm done with the slides, but not sure if I can improve the last one. So I hope you'll enjoy my presentation.

I've commented on the slides of my group mates, but I think they are doing just fine. All of their images are clear, and there are not too many words so it doesn't confuse the listeners. Also, my group mates have made some very useful comments on my presentation, so I am feeling a little bit more confident!!

Well, we'll all see how interesting our presentation is going to be tomorrow!!

Evernote, CRAP and final topic

Hola!!

Sorry for being far too late on updating my blog. We were all busy with the ICU festival that we had on the 25 and 26, which was yesterday and the day before... But I finally got the chance to update my blog!

1. First, we learned how to use Evernote. Evernote is a place where one can easily save a page from any website and be able to look at it later. I thought it was useful because you can either take a screenshot of the page, or keep the page itself and be able to jump to that really quickly later. The best part of Evernote, in my opinion, is that you can use it together with Zotero to have an easy save and access for your online sources and make the citations to make your essay writing so much less complicating.

2. Do you know what CRAP means in presentation? Do not be confused, it does not mean a horrible presentation. It is the opposite of that. It stands for:
Contrast (make letters and images bigger or smaller to show what is important)
Repetition (use same colors, words or images to make unity stronger)
Alignment (everything should be related to one another)
Proximity (all the similar topics should be in the same group)
and these are the technique used to make a good presentation.

I've never had the chance to make a power-point presentation for my class before, so I will be careful of these points.

3. Finally, my topic for my last essay topic will be about the rights of hypnotherapy. I am very interested in psychology, and I am willing to study hypnosis in the future. However, the matter of hypnosis has become very delicate as many people used it in entertainment field, or in criminal matters. Therefore most people do not know how useful and scientific hypnosis can be used as, which I personally think most Japanese people should be aware of, so I will strongly advertise the power of hypnosis.

ok, that is it for this time. I will try to update my blog on time from now on, as I have finished all my musicals and acting plays.

working with the database

Hola!!

This week, we had a special class. We went to a different classroom and had a different teacher to teach us how to use the database of ICU library web cite. It looked like ICU has a ton of pages offering for the students to use in order to do a research. We worked in a group and used a database called "Gale Virtual Reference Library." In this place, one can search for academic papers on any topics, and the best part about this is that there is a citation tool at the right side of the page, waiting for it to be clicked when you think you can use the paper as a source for the essay.

While it was fun learning how to search for academic papers and news articles, I also found some psychology related database too! There were some interesting papers I would certainly like to read soon.

Well, I enjoyed looking at some psychology papers more than anything else we did, but let's just keep that as a secret...

Zotero

Hello!!

Sorry for being late on my Zotero post! I said I'd do it on tuesday but a lot happened for this post to be uploaded...

Anyways, we learned how to Use Zotero last week. It is used by connecting the app with google chrome. It is very useful because we can make works citation very quickly like this:

All of this were made with just a click and a bit of dragging. 

And these citations are for my current essay I am writing for my ARW class. It is about racism, and I will be studying the culture of Paraguay, where there is no racism or any sort of segregation, to apply on rest of the world and get rid of any separation between races. 

It is a bit challenging but I hope I will be able to write a good paper using this Zotero app!!

Just for Fun

Hello!!

We are currently assigned to use Zoteri, the new application technology we were introduced to, to make 3 citations and post it here on my blog. Well, I am searching on the useful information right now, but it is hard finding sources based on spanish countries written in english... 

Anyways, the homework is due tomorrow, and I will be searching for it later... 

Well, the class has just ended but no one seems to be moving... Everyone is facing the computer, desperate to finish their homework, and all I hear right now is some people wining why their amazon page won't open (LOL).

Alright, I have to go to my acting practice, so I'll post this zotero blog tomorrow. THIS POST IS JUST FOR FUN! NOT MY ZOTERO WORK. so don't be confused ok?

Google Form

Hello!!

we just had a class on making a questioner using google form.

And for my question, I asked:
"Are you participating in any circle activities"

and the answer I got was this:

Well, I guess everyone in our class is currently working in some circle activity.

But then, as we were all from different club activities, I decided to see on which days do most people have activities.

The result went like this...

So it turns out that most people stay after school on tuesdays and then on thursdays.

maybe I can put all my outside school activities on tuesdays, as most people in school would be busy anyways.

I enjoyed making this google form. I thought this would help me find many information I need via online by asking for the particular information necessary. 

ok, this has been way to much concentration time for me, so I will go join my drama club then. BYE!
